Unit 8 That’s how most accidents happen. (第二课时教学设计) 一、教材分析 1. 教学内容 本课时系教材《英语3(基础模块)》(高教版)第八单元的第二课时,包括reading and writing部分。课文通过阅读介绍住房安全注意事项,训练学生从文中提取和自己生活居住安全 相关信息的能力。 2. 教学重点、难点 1. 教学重点 训练学生扫读获取细节信息的能力。 学生通过仔细阅读,提取信息后完成信息表。 2. 教学难点 在活动前介绍扫读的方法,在阅读过程中注意对学生进行阅读方法的指导, 从而达到培 养学生学习能力的目的。 二、教学目标 1. 知识目标 能运用祈使句表达意见或建议。 2. 技能目标 能读懂有关注意安全事项的短文并概括其主旨。 能在图片和文字提示下运用关键词和短语描述有关的安全注意事项。 3. 情感目标 通过读写活动,能让学生注意个人和公共安全,树立文明和谐的社会公德意识。 三、教学步骤 Step I Lead-in 1. Look and match (Activity 10) 1) The students read the pictures. Describe them in English. 2) The students will work in pairs to discuss the pictures and the information. The teacher explains some keywords or phrases. 3) Read the information and match the pictures individually. 4) Check the answer and give the feedback. Reference answer: (1) d (2) b (3) a (4) c (设计意图:学生通过读图获得感性认识,了解居住安全隐患的四种状况,通过把图片 和信息进行合理的匹配,为即将进行的阅读练习打好基础。) 2. Discuss and list (Activity 11) Guide the students to review the sentences about suggestions and warning. And then divide them into groups. Ask them to discuss and list at least three suggestions about apartment safety. Encourage some volunteers to read their list and give the feedback. Reference answers: 1) Don’t talk on the cellphone when walking toward the room. 2) Never leave a note on the door saying that you are away for only a few seconds. 3) Make sure all the locks are changed before you move in. (设计意图:本活动进一步加深对主题的认识,促使学生找出更多的生活实例,让他们 用英语表达,为阅读活动做准备。) Step II Scan and choose (Activity 12) Ask the students to scan the text and choose what we should pay attention to about apartment safety.
